marty tripes

Marty Tripes won the first supercross ever invented. the 1972 Superbowl of Motocross.
Marty also won the 1978 Daytona Supercross.
Marty won the 250 USGP in Unadilla in 1978.
When I spectated at the Omaha MX  National in 1978. Marty passed Bob Hannah as if Bob was a 125 left handed
beginner. Also at that race was Tom Benolkin's pro debut.  Gary Gengel and Jay Holst were there too. Jeff Ward raced an FMF  RM125 and looked like he was four feet tall.
Marty raced for Yamaha, Honda, Can-Am, Bultaco, Maico, Husky, CZ, and Harley Davidson, and some brands he raced more than one time. When they made that guy they broke the mold.   Ricky Carmichael wishes he could have half the talent Marty had.
